Stan, I started to argue with you but went and checked the photocarve pattern and you
are right. I could have filigreed it, as the leather is only 3-4 oz and wouldn't add that
much thickness. This is the third time I've done this pattern and next time I will filligree

Ah! Much better picture for sure. Thanks for sending out the 2nd picture.
I still think the buck is outstanding.
Upon checking Al's TOP 20 book and comparing your work with his, I found one big difference: He did not use background tools. Instead, he did it as filigree. As a result, it seems to give "less busy" results.
In another couple of years, I'll give it a try!!
