[flasah] First Project
Hello Friends,
I've never posted here before, even though I've been reading the posts. My best friend owns a company that he started in 2002, and he sacrificed his motorcycle to get it started. His family heritage comes from Norway, so I've tried to incorporate it as much as possible.
Please take a look at my photo uploads to see the front and back of the desk-check sized checkbook I'm designing for him.
Unlike most leather projects that contain a large amount of stamping, I would like to try a new approach in which the largest part of the design is 'sketching' or 'sculpting' or whatever.
I'm new to leatherwork myself, although I've been around it some. I'm wanting some help, especially with the motorcycle, because it seems to be the most troublesome part of the design. How do I create the motorcycle? Should I simply outline it, the way it appears, or should I use pressure on the swivel knife to make cuts as thin or thick as I need them to match the design?
I've given this pattern a lot of thought, but am still open to changes, and am willing to discuss it anyone who is interested. I'm often on Yahoo! Messenger if you wanna chat live, just make sure you mention flasah in the description so I'll know you are part of this group.
