I also like the balance between the blank space and the graphic. It brings the focus of the eye to the tree. Sometimes we try to fill all of our space with tooling and it makes the finished product too busy and detracts from the main subject. Very nice.

The attached leather piece is the second attempt at embossing the same tree subject. I am glad I tried again. Mistakes were made, I learned that you can emboss too much, and that leather will shrink if not worked at its' proper time. I doubt that I will do this subject again, so it is hanging on my wall. The way the design comes out of the tree trunk turned out well. The oval is 8" x 10", color is Fiebing's dye.
Keeping everything "under the table" I have seen this piece. Yes, more learning and experience is required, BUT the maker has advanced beyond where most leathercrafters venture. And I appreciate those who have the guts to jump in.
(His embossing added approx. an inch in height; more than most would attempt.) To learn it: Ya gotta do it.
