The attached leather piece is the second attempt at embossing the same tree subject. I am glad I tried again. Mistakes were made, I learned that you can emboss too much, and that leather will shrink if not worked at its' proper time. I doubt that I will do this subject again, so it is hanging on my wall. The way the design comes out of the tree trunk turned out well. The oval is 8" x 10", color is Fiebing's dye.

Keeping everything "under the table" I have seen this piece. Yes, more learning and experience is required, BUT the maker has advanced beyond where most leathercrafters venture. And I appreciate those who have the guts to jump in.
(His embossing added approx. an inch in height; more than most would attempt.) To learn it: Ya gotta do it.
