[flasah] EMBOSSING
I was taught to use sawdust and glue for embossing. I get the sawdust for free at any lumber yard that cuts wood, even Home Depot and Lowe's. I use Elmer's probond wood glue for exterior use. Use a paper bowl. Add sawdust and then add your glue just enough to make something that will hold its shape ( like very dry hot oat meal, For those of you who did not add enough water when making your breakfast.) I use a Popsicle stick to apply to the back of your leather. The stick works the best as this is very pasty. Once filled in Apply your cloth on the back and press slightly into the mixture to adhere the cloth. Allow 12 to 16 hours to dry depending on how thick your mixture is. After it hardens glue any of the cloth down that is not adhered to leather. This is hard enough to do light tooling if necessary. |
