Although my reason for visiting wasn't very pleasant (my doctor said I
needed surgery), after the doctor here in Hartford told me that I was
responding to the medication quite well and did not need surgery, the
rest of my stay here has been more like a vacation.

Last Wednesday I went to the class at the local Tandy store and had a
very nice time. I even got to try out the SK-3 swivel knife I've been
wanting to try. Also spent waaaaaaay too much money there. There's no
class today because of Thanksgiving.

I am really impressed by the beauty of this town. I was surprised at
how friendly the people are. The day we arrived, on the drive from the
airport, a wild turkey ran across the road in front of the car I was
riding in and into the trees of a small forest. On the other side of
the street, in front of the house where we're staying, is a fairly steep
hillside covered with trees and shrubs and several times during the hazy
light hours of dusk or dawn we have seen deer foraging there.

I'm also attaching a photo of a new friend I've made here. Her name is
Candy.
