I totally agree David, thats why I tried, few years ago. Its not bad, could have used it for lots of stuff in leather work. But it is not what Im looking for.Saying no before trying it out would be ignorant.

Until you try the double-sided carpet tape, don't be sure it's not exactly what you are looking for. I've used it for the purpose  you wish to use it.  It works well if firm pressure is applied to the leather-tape-leather sandwich immediately after they are stuck together

Try it...bet you'll like it!.
