RE: [flasah] "Inca" moccasins

Very nice. Sheep skin lining would be way to warm for me though, maybe as an insole. I have a Tandy kit that I wear and find them warm. I never wear them outside but the sole is already starting to wear.

[Attachment(s) from Dale Erwin included below] I finally made a pair of mocs I can wear. My shoe size is 10-1/2, so I
first made the size 11 pattern but it was waaaaaaaay too small for me.
They largest size in the pattern pak is 12, but I was sure it would
still be too small because I was lining them with sheep's wool. So I
traced the size 12 pattern onto a sheet of paper, then inside that
tracing I traced a size 11. Using a pair of dividers, I inscribed a
series of dots all around that pattern the same distance from the size
12 as the size 12 was from the size 11 and after connecting the dots I
called it size 13.

They are a bit snug, but comfortable. If I make another pair, they will
be a hair larger still.

My experience with soft mocs in the past has been that they develop a
hole on the bottom verrrrrrry quickly, so I stitched some hard leather
soles to the bottom. I cut them from a side of approx. 12-oz veg-tan
that I have had lots of problems with for projects with carving. I made
the stitching grooves extra deep to protect the thread from wear, then I
cut strips from the same leather the uppers were cut from to use as laces.
