Re: [flasah] WHITE DYE
Allen:
I have used the Fiebings white dye on several projects and I can tell you it is very difficult to work with. It must be applied in multiple layers of dye to get a good white color. Also this dye does not mix well with any other Fiebings dye. It must also always be shaken rel well because it separates easily and it can not be put into a plastic cup. It must be kept in glass. I usually shake it real well and then pour a little into the lid of the bottle and apply with a paint brush.
If you find a suitable white dye other than this one I would be very interested. I do not use a lot of Fiebings Dyes because I am not able to use the white to soften the colors the way that I like. You may want to contact Peter Main with your question, he does all of his work with the spirit based dyes.
I hope this helps.

| Up until know when it comes to white I have always used waterdowned white acrylic paints. I am trying to use Fiebings WHITE leather dye. Will any one please enlighten me as to the proper application of this dye to get an even coat or any other suitable white dye on the market for leather. |
