For the Basic Seven Tool Kit, I recommend the book: Tech Tips by Al Stohlman. It takes each one of those basic tools and show one how to use it, and the differences in other varieties of that same tool. The Kidcraft book is great for beginners of all ages (even grown-ups become kids in a new hobby)
