Re: [flasah] Plywood
Dale beat me to it but I agree with his recommendations. My father taught me many years ago that pre-drilling and counter sinking is the best way to go on any piece of wood. A simple way to counter sink is just to use a larger bit to create a recess for the head of the screw. Of course there are countersink bits that work best, just giving you options.

Dale ,Just pre-drill the plywood and even the particle board and that will prevent the plywood or the particle board from splitting or breaking . Also use a countersink bit
to make the flat head flush and smooth. Jess

I know a lot of you guys also are pretty handy with woodwork and thought
someone here could probably answer my question. I know screws don't
work so well with particle board, but am wondering if they are OK to use
on plywood. Any ideas?
I'm trying to design a console for the top of my desk to hold my leather
tools.
I have found an amazing computer program that is very easy to use that
allows me to draw these things in 3D and the drawings can be rotated a
full 360 degrees in all directions. It is called Google Sketch-Up...
and it's free. There is also a pro version one must pay for, but I
don't find the free version to be what I would call "crippled."
