Diann, you and I are just beginners but I think we see the light through the smoke. Spending our money on supplies like leather and lace instead of the latest whiz-bang tools?...... I want you to know that I have combined all the advice I have gathered from this thread (cord?) and came up with the ultimate leather stamping tool! I took a piece of pipe, made a simple stick type handle from rare and endangered rain forest hardwood, turned it on my lathe, epoxied a ball peen hammer inside it and covered it all with Naugahyde. I inject myself with steroids just like a major league batter, hold my invention with a limp wrist like Rod Stewart holds his cricket bat , swing it from the hip like John Wayne and hold my tongue firmly in my cheek like Ronald Reagan then write about it in the spirit of Mark Twain! It is not much good for stamping leather but I think everyone should finally agree that I am using the recommended tool and technique. ( I hope I don't get "mauled" for posting this but I just had to "stick" in my 2 centavos!) --- On Sat, 9/5/09, Diann Amberger <DAmberger@centuryte
