Leathercraft Tool

I have asked ALL my friends in saddle repair, etc. what they think of wood stain (since MANY of the "famous" crafters use wood stain). This IS THE VIEW of most repair/restoration ppl: the leather MUST be replaced (not repaired).
AND UNTIL last month, I thought wood stain was the quickest, easiest way to achieve a means.
