Re: [flasah] sewing machine
Hi Frank,
Thank you for answering me. I am interested in the straight stitch because
I don't think I would use the zig zag stitch enough to warrant the extra
money. I just don't know anything about these kinds of machines and knew
that somebody on here would know. Do they make a pretty top stitch? I
want that and I also want to use it for sewing handbags, etc. But, I don't
work much with leather over 5 oz. Most of mine is 3-4 oz. weight, because
I just do small items. I can handstitch with the really heavy thread if I
need to. I don't have a problem with that at all, but I do need a machine
for the purses. I think my home machine will sew the 69 thread and might
even do the heavier thread too. I don't have any to try, but I am going to
get some. I did get the needles to use for leather and it sews the 3-4 oz
leather great, and I think it would even sew the 4-5 oz., so I'm not even
sure I need to get one of the other machines. I might could use the money
for other things. I think I'll order some of the 69 thread and see if my
machine will do ok with it. I can't see spending almost $700 for something
my home machine will sew. By the way, my machine is an old, old, Phaff,
one of the steel models that I was told would outlast my grandchildren.
LOL......It does sew great. I'll look at the website, tho and see what
they have to say.
Thank you again. Keep in touch, ok?
